Driving North in search of entropy & decay.
From Sydney through the back roads via Wollombi and then Scone where I was long due for a break. A coffee stop – across from a Gift, which was the Art Deco Civic Theatre in glorious decay.
A couple of quick shots – gulped my coffee down and headed over to the local council offices with the intention of getting permission to enter & shoot the building.
The staff were very helpful. The building was slated for a full restoration this year – one of the big local projects supported by all things including a community photo competition. I was given the name of the builder who I called and left a message. Quandry. The light was just too good to wait – so I headed back to the Civic and I worked my way around the buildings exteriors then hit the road again in fading light.
The following morning I was going to follow up access but I then imagined the windowless interiors of a dark cinema. Perhaps – I had already caught the Civic in her best light…
