Background Crossfire Photography was established almost 20 years ago by Principal Photographer Andrew Richardson and has been based in our Rushcutters Bay studio, Sydney since 1992 – we also have a North side production office.
Qualifications Andrew obtained his photographic qualifications from Sydney TAFE whilst working with Fairfax, he also holds a B.Commerce UNSW and has been a member of the ACMP for more than a decade. Director Monique Richardson holds a B.Commerce (Marketing) UNSW and our trusty senior assistants also have formal qualifications in photography.
Studio Facilities include off-street parking, level access to the studio from the loading dock, cyclorama, digital post production facilities, makeup room, digital cameras, tungsten and Bowens / Profoto strobe lighting.
Location Facilities include a 12V Strobe systems, Mac Powerbooks and a photoboat, used mainly by our affiliated business Photo Nautical.
More than a decade of Digital Photography
Crossfire uses the latest digital SLR equipment and we have been shooting digital commercially since 1996. The example – right – was taken with our first professional digital camera DCS200 which was the first untethered 1.5MP digital camera ever released… how things have changed in 13 years!
Clients include corporations in media, rural, industrial, shipping, fashion and motor vehicles. From Australian corporations including ABC Radio & Woodside LTD to multinationals such as BMW and Time Warner. Our regular retail catalogue clients frequently have print runs exceeding 1 million and it's our low stress timely delivery of quality images that supports the profitable catalogue process.
Exhibitions are a common event with Crossfire Photography. Past solo exhibitions by Andrew Richardson include "Images of Australian Rural Woman" which was launched from the ABC Centre at Ultimo and travelled throughout Australia. All up there were 36 images in this series covering the lives of Australian Rural Women from every state of Australia. Sponsored by QANTAS and ABC Radio. More recently Andrew had a solo exhibition launching a calendar featuring sixteen leading Rugby League players – more than 20,000 calendars were sold.
Editorial work has been produced for a range of publications including ACP's Money Magazine, Momentum, Various Newspaper Magazines, Modern Boating, Power Boat, NZ Sea Spray, Pacific Motor-Yachting, Personal Investor, Shares, and many more.
